Frozen Shoulder Frozen shoulder is a common condition which presents with the typical combination of pain and stiffness. Stiffnesses multidirectional. After an initial painful period, the pain diminishes but with severe restriction of movement, particularly external rotation, remains. The combination of marked reduction in shoulder movement clinically and a normal x-ray are enough to make the diagnosis The imaging findings in adhesive capsulitis are quite variable and in many cases imaging studies are normal. Soft tissue thickening in the region of the axillary recess and in the region of the anterior interval has been described. Loss of normal reflectivity, thickening of the coracohumeral ligament and increased vascularity in the region of the anterior interval have also reported using ultrasound. These findings are said to be present only in the first year of the disease . In many cases of classical clinical frozen shoulder however the imaging findings are minimal.
