FRIEBERGS INFRACTION
Freiberg’s infraction is characterized by collapse of the 2nd or 3rd metatarsal head, which is thought to be related to repetitive trauma, resulting in microfractures and avascular necrosis. It occurs more commonly in females and typically affects adolescents. The disease is more common when the first metatarsal is shorter than second metatarsal.
