• Kiloh Nevin syndrome (anterior interosseus nerve)

ANTERIOR INTEROSSEUS NERVE

The anterior interosseous nerve is a branch of the median nerve in the proximal forearm.

It supplies the deep flexor muscles with the exception of the medial part of flexor digitorum profundus.

The principle muscles affected are flexor pollicis longus, pronator quadratus and the lateral half of the flexor digitorum profundus

A history of directives penetrating injury should be sought.

Compression can occur from masses in the proximal forearm, tumours or haematoma,

or from an accessory head of pronator teres.

Anterior interosseus syndrome can also be the consequence of an neuritis similar to the Parsonage Turner syndrome This syndrome is also called Kiloh Nevin syndrome
