STERNOCLAVICULAR JOINT INJECTION
The principles for injecting the SCJ are similar to the ACJ
The medial clavicle usually stands slightly proud of the underlying sternum
creating an access to the joint from the medial side.
The presence of joint effusion or synovial thickening facilitates this
The probe is held in the axial plane overlying the joint
It is moved laterally until the joint lies at the medial margin of the image.
The skin is marked at the medial end of the probe representing the puncture point.
As usual, a small volume syringe is used for small joints.
